Dr.
Martin Freedman completed his fellowship in Reproductive
Endocrinology and Infertility at the Hospital of the University
of Pennsylvania in 1984. He was appointed the Director of
the In-vitro Fertilization program at Albert Einstein Medical
Center in Philadelphia. Under Dr. Freedman's direction we
had one of the highest pregnancy rates in the Delaware Valley.
In 1987 we established the first pregnancy from a cryopreserved
embryo in the Mid Atlantic Region. In 1991 the physicians
of Northern Fertility were granted staff privileges at both
Holy Redeemer Medical Center and Abington Memorial Hospital.
Under Dr. Freedman's direction the Toll Center for Reproductive
Sciences had the highest pregnancy rate for fresh non-donor
in-vitro fertilization in the entire region. (These rates
are based on women under the age of 35 with pregnancy rates
calculated with live births as the numerator and cycles
initiated as the denominator.*)
Dr
Arthur Castelbaum joined the practice in 1994 after also
completing a distinguished fellowship at the Hospital of
the University of Pennsylvania. He has authored many landmark
papers on markers of uterine receptivity, in vitro fertilization,
endometriosis, luteal phase defect, and unexplained infertility.
Dr. Castelbaum has lectured nationally and internationally.
Both Drs. Freedman and Castelbaum have been named Top Doctors
in Philadelphia Magazine, and are reviewers for the most
prestigious fertility journals world-wide.
We
are both infertility specialists doubly boarded in general
Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the sub-specialty of
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. We left the
university environment to offer rapidly developing fertility
technologies as they became available as well as to improve
our patient's clinical experience. We offer all aspects
of assisted reproductive technologies with success rates
that continue to be one of the highest in the Delaware Valley.
