Dear Dr. Freedman,
It is with
my deepest heartfelt thanks that I am writing you this letter. Six and a half
months ago I walked into your office and here I am already two months pregnant!
You are an incredible doctor with a terrific staff and it has been my pleasure
getting to know all of you. You created such a support system that even when things
didn't go our way the first application, I never felt like giving up, instead
we automatically jumped to plan B where you took a more aggressive approach. I
can tell you that your "full speed ahead" attitude was exactly what
I needed. As the patient, it would have been so easy to give up because of the
anxiety and mental turmoil that having fertility problems causes, but every time
I was in your office I felt like I just came out of the team's locker room and
was ready to go back and play the game and play it hard! You and your staff created
that atmosphere, which probably explains why your waiting room was always full.
You are a special man, you enabled me to achieve yet another incredible dream
of mine, another family member. Your smile was always positive, your words always
straight from the shoulder, your handshake always firm and your concern always
heartfelt. All kidding aside, I will miss you, Erlynn, Dr. Castelbaum, Denise
and everyone else that has helped me mentally and physically.
Dr. Freedman, they say a good doctor is worth a million bucks, so if that's the
case, you are priceless.

Dear Dr. Castelbaum,
We can't
thank you enough for helping to make our dream of becoming parents come true.
Our journey to parenthood was a long and very emotional one and we couldn't have
asked for a better ending - or new beginning. Jake and Faith are keeping us very
busy and we're loving every minute of it.

Dear Dr. Freedman,
I just had surgery for endometriosis on Dec 5th. I just wanted to thank Dr. Freedman
and let you all know that my recovery is going exceptionally well! This the third
time I've had a procedure for removal of endometriosis tissue. I can honestly
say that it's been the best experience! I suffered absolutely no nausea from the
anesthesia…which is tremendous when one's had abdominal work! I can't get
over how, overall, I am doing so well! I think last time, I just slept for days!
I'm actually up and around! Whatever you all did, you did it GREAT!!!!

We were on our third year of trying to get pregnant under the supervision
of my ob/gyn, who we realized could only take my infertility
issues to a certain point. My friend recommended we see Dr. Castelbaum. I became
pregnant within a year of my first appointment.
I can't say enough
about Dr. Castelbaum He's positive and open; he kept our spirits up when it was
emotionally tough. My husband and I liked that fact that he was very clear that
my health and the babies health comes first…that he would never put my health
in jeopardy. We went from medications, to injections to IVF. We were successful
with the very first egg retrieval.

My husband and I tried for six months, then sought out help from my ob/gyn.
After another year of trying my ob/gyn sat us down and recommended that we see
an infertility specialist, Dr. Martin Freedman.
From the day we
started it took two years to get pregnant. Dr. Freedman found that I needed surgery.
Dr. Freedman saved my life and my ovaries, twice. I now have twin boys, who I
call my birthday present. Joshua and Tyler were born the day before my birthday.
I have never received
such personalized attention from a physician in my life as I have from Dr. Freedman.
He's the most fabulous doctor in the world, I never felt like a number and I was
always emotionally supported. Infertility is hard on you and it can be hard on
your marriage. I can't say enough about the kindness and support of the entire
office staff; they are wonderful professionals and people.

I always wanted a large family. While under the care of my regular ob/gyn
I miscarried my first pregnancy and then proceeded to miscarry three pregnancies
after that. I took tests to find out why and at one of the tests I met with a
perinatologist who recommended that my husband and I see Dr. Castelbaum, an infertility
specialist.
At our first appointment
Dr. Castelbaum already had my records, reviewed my charts and said he knew what
the problem was. With the corrective medication he subscribed I became pregnant
within two months. When I was ready to become pregnant again I went back to Dr.
Castelbaum and with the help of the same treatment plan I had a second son. Now
I am seven months pregnant.
I've been to their
offices so frequently I know everyone. I love the staff. I have never waited more
than 10 minutes for any of my appointments, ever. They are so considerate of their
patient's time constraints and emotional needs.
So far I have sent
14 patients to Dr. Castelbaum. He tells me I am his best referral, I tell him
that he is not just my doctor, he is my friend. He's talented, he's honest and
he goes above and beyond as far as a personal commitment to patients. I would
never move out of the area because I would never switch doctors.

I was referred to Dr. Freedman 10 years ago by my ob/gyn. I have unexplained
infertility. With Dr. Freedman first we tried non-invasive techniques and then
we tried ZIFT. I got pregnant with my twin boys, Matt and Zach, right away. The
next time I wanted to get pregnant we did IVF and I got pregnant with Scott, my
18 mth old, on the first try.
I don't just like
the doctors and staff at Northern Fertility & Reproductive Services; I love
them. As emotionally draining as infertility is I knew I was in good hands, those
of Dr. Freedman, an extremely capable, knowledgeable physician who is really caring.
I am the past president
of RESOLVE and from talking to other women who were having infertility problems
and seeing how their doctors handled them I knew the care I was getting from Dr.
Freedman was different. He customized my treatment; he didn't just follow a protocol.
I knew that before each of my cycles he studied my files, tweaking everything
to make sure I got the utmost out of my treatment plan. During each visit I always
got the feeling that I was the only patient on their minds. I value that.
Kelly, four and a half months pregnant
I needed to remove cysts from my ovaries. My ob/gyn brought in Dr. Castelbaum
to assist him in this very complicated surgery because of Dr. Castelbaum's high
level of skill. It ended up that Dr. Castelbaum removed three cysts from my right
ovary and one from my left. He saved my right ovary instead of doing what everyone
else wanted to do - remove it.
Dr. Castelbaum
is a great doctor with an incredibly positive attitude. He was so confident that
I would become pregnant that it made us confident. In infertility treatment having
a positive attitude is as important as the medication. He makes sure you, the
patient, go into everything with an upbeat approach.
He managed my recuperation
and care until the point when my husband and I wanted to become pregnant, which
we were then able to do naturally. I am now pregnant with our first child.

We were trying to get pregnant for months when my ob/gyn referred me to Dr.
Castelbaum. He reviewed my file and recommended laparoscopic surgery. From the
start we could tell he was a great doctor. He looks you in the eye, is very honest
and compassionate. He's well read and up on the latest literature. He's been widely
published as well.
After we started
I did get pregnant and miscarried that pregnancy. Dr. Castelbaum broke the news
in a comforting manner. He encouraged us to go on vacation and when we came back
we would start again. I went on vacation, came back and then became pregnant with
Connor.
I always had faith
in Dr. Castelbaum and he always offered us hope. Every member of his office staff-
the nurses, the lab staff - treated us like family. They were all rooting for
us.
A very important
part of our comfort level with Dr. Castelbaum was his very respectful attitude
towards our religious beliefs--what we would do and what we would not do. He would
listen; he was not judgmental and would only go ahead with what we were comfortable
with.
When I was in the
hospital and had Connor, Dr. Castelbaum made a special trip to visit me and to
see Connor. I was very touched when I saw that it made him so happy to hold our
child. He has such a busy schedule and went out of his way to visit. I'll always
remember that.

We were to two other practices before a friend told me about Northern Fertility
& Reproductive Services and Dr. Freedman. When we met with Dr. Freedman for
the first time he was very professional, optimistic and very certain a pregnancy
would happen. He said I needed and I did eventually go through two laparoscopic
surgeries.
Just as he said,
we were pregnant by that October and had Nicholas in July. Two years later I went
back, and found I needed more surgery due to the formation of a lot of scar tissue.
I am now six months pregnant with our second child.
Dr. Freedman befriended
us when we were on the emotional roller coaster of infertility. I needed that
type of support from my doctor. He always made us feel so comfortable.

We had gone to another specialist in New Jersey. No one at that office ever
bothered to remember our names from appointment to appointment. We went through
two unsuccessful IVF treatments there as well. We never saw the same person, we
saw the doctor of the day or different nurses.
Someone I worked
with knew how we felt about this practice and gave me Dr. Freedman's number. He
saw us right away. We were so impressed.
Dr. Freedman reviewed my history and knew right away that we needed to go in a
different direction. He told us I had endometriosis.
He did a laparoscopy in December
and by February we were pregnant.
The compassion
that everyone in the office had, the time they spend with us …we knew we
were being cared for by someone special. While treating me medically Dr. Freedman
also kept us emotionally healthy. He promised that he would do all the procedures
and that we would always see him there. That was true, he kept his promise.
